Production diary

Today I aim to start the production of the Canon campaign. There are two images that I need and I aim to do as many takes as possible to make sure I get the exact shots that I want. I will need to acquire a camera and tripod from college and go along to the studio where I will be using the lights that are already in there and a mirror which is also stored in the there as a prop. I need to be sure I have enough time to set up the light and make sure the mirror is in place. I also need to be sure that my model knows what to do and that they are okay with following my directions.

The first shot that I'm aiming to get is one where the model can be seen in the mirror reaching out in a dramatic manor. The second image is the model facing away from the mirror looking happy. My aim here is to represent the journey of self discovery.

I feel as though I accomplished my goal of taking all the pictures that I need and also had no issue acquiring the needed equipment such as the camera and tripod. The photoshoot took up the majority off the lesson and so I will not have time to go over the images and decided on which ones to use in my final product.

Today I will be looking over the pictures I took last week and deciding which ones I feel are suitable to use for my final product and then will hopefully begin the post-production process. The only equipment I will need for this is the computer in the classroom and my SD card that I keep with me at all times.

After taking a look at the photos I realised that the light I used can be seen in the background and cannot be cut out as that would cut out integral parts of the image due to the placement. My tutor advised that I retake all of the photos and so I will get a camera and tripod from the office and retake the photos.

I went back to the studio with my model and we reshot all the pictures, doing multiple takes, to make sure it was to a higher standard then what I had previously done. I was sure to move the light and make sure there was nothing in the shot that wasn't supposed to be.

After this I returned the camera and proceeded to go through the photos I had taken and decided which ones were the best to use in my final poster. This time the photos were much better and there was nothing there that wasn't supposed to be.
