Stress is the bodies response to pressure. There are numerous different situations that can cause stress whether that's work or family related. It's often triggered when experiencing something new or when there is a deadline ahead. Everyone deals with stress differently and everyone has different coping mechanisms and this can often depend on past experiences and figuring out what works best for you as an individual.

This particular campaign is about the impact smiling can have on mental health, below is a website that briefly talks about the mental and physical benefits of smiling.

Surprising benefits of smiling.

This part of the article explains some of the benefits of smiling and it shows that there are mental and physical elements. The mental health based one being the reduction of stress, stress being a major cause of a lot of other mental and physical issues.

The physical ones being reduced blood pressure, pain and can help to strengthen the immune system, along with other long term benefits.

Stress is very common in adults in general but specifically people between the ages of 18 and 33 also known as millennials'. People in this age group tend to work and when reaching nearer to their thirties may be starting a family which are all things that can cause copious amounts of stress that can be difficult to cope with. Another reason being that people of these ages tend to have to work long hours with only small breaks and never getting any time to take care of their mental or physical health and stress will only make it more difficult. Stress is also becoming much more common in the younger generation due to exams, schoolwork and lack of mental health support for them along with a growing lack of a stable support system in the home. School Councillors exist but I know from experience that they usually care more about finding a quick solution rather than really hearing the issue and letting you figure out what solution would be the best for your mental health.

Mental health is fast becoming a much more widely spoken about topic, particularly on television. This is of great importance as it helps to normalise the idea of struggling and seeking help when you are going through major and even minor issues with mental health.
