Today I began editing the footage for my podcast. The first thing I had to do was listen through and and cut out any pauses or parts that didn't make any sense along with the parts where we went too off topic.

The only tools I used were the scissor tool to cut the clips down and the pointer tool to move the clips together.

I had to listen through the podcast a couple of times and it didn't end up being perfect due to previous issues that could only be fixed by rerecording but we didn't have the time to record the whole things again and so a lot of the clips needed to be cut meaning the podcast isn't very long.

Today I plan on beginning the editing process of my project. My goal for this session is just to find the shots that I want to use as my final shots and to cut them down where necessary such as when my actor broke character. Once I have done that if there is time left I will look for static sounds to use in the first scene.

In todays lesson, I found the shots that I wanted to use for my final edit and then I put them into premiere pro and edited the shots down to how I wanted them, cutting out mistakes and just extra time where nothing was happening. I looked on bensound for static sounds but didn't find any so I will look in other places in future lessons.

Today I will be attempting to edit the green screen in the second scene to make it seem as though it was shot in a house, I did originally plan to film the shot in my house but I couldn't get permission to do so, so I decided to shoot it in the college studio as this was the next most suitable place to film. I also want to add the Mind logo at the end along with some stats.

I attempted to edit the green screen however when I do so it comes across as very grainy as the lighting in the studio was too dark, I made the shot brighter by using the lighting effects and playing around with contrast but it is still very grainy so I decided to leave it unedited.

Today I will be creating a survey to send out to the people who will be viewing my advert first. This is so I can get an outside perspective and find out if my advert makes it clear who the client and the audience is and so they can tell me what they believe I did well and if there is anything I can do to improve this and show more technical skill.

I created the survey although it has not yet been sent out as the advert is not quite complete, I need to add sound to the advert. As soon as the advert is complete I will be showing it to a select few people and asking them to complete the survey so I can see if there are any last minute edits I can make to improve the advert.

Today I will be completing the editing for my advert. I need to fix the green screen as the wall that is supposed to be shown over the green screen shows up before the shot of the character sitting does. Once I have fixed this issue I need to add text that says "Smile Campaign" at the end where the Mind logo is shown just to show what the advert is for and as the title needs to be in it at some point. The last thing I need to do is add sound to the advert however, I have not yet found a good static sound to go at the start, I also have to figure out how to get the static to fade into music. Once all of this is complete, my advert will be finished and I can move onto the evaluation.

I completed the advert. Although, some technical difficulties did occur such as the fact that I am unable to fix the green screen, I did add sound and added some ending slides that show some statistics. I do wish I could reshoot the green screen scene but unfortunately there just isn't enough time to do so. Other then the green screen issue I am happy with how the advert turned out.
