Post-production diary

Today I plan on starting the post-production or editing process of the Canon campaign. There isn't a specific amount that I have planned on getting done today, I just want to play around with placement and getting the basics done to then get more of the detail done in the next lesson.

The first step was to open both of the images on photoshop separately and then move them both into the same session. and use the eraser tool to get rid of the parts of the second image that aren't necessary. It's very important to make sure the placement of the second image is right and lines up perfectly, making it look natural. 



This is the product so far after playing around with placement and making sure all of the correct parts are erased. the aim was really just to make it look as natural as possible and not out of place.

The next thing I did was play around with the brightness and contrast so the models face can be seen more clearly. I played around with this for a while and settled on setting the brightness at 75 and leaving the contrast at 0. This seemed right since it's bright enough that the models face can be seen but not too bright that it's oversaturated.

The last thing I needed to do was add in the Canon logo and put a slogan underneath. I knew that I wanted the Canon logo to go in the top left corner as that's where there is a suitable space. For the slogan I felt it fit well with my idea of self discovery.

Pitch feedback

  I sent out a survey to the people I showed my pitch to so they could give me feedback and explain what I did well and anything I could improve on to make my final product the best it could be. Here I asked what they thought of the layout of my pitch and they both responded positively specifically pointing out the colour scheme. Next I asked if the way I presented my ideas was enjoyable and they both said yes. I asked what I could've doe to improve my pitch. They both said I should've shown more of the research I had done. The second person saying that I could've explained the USP in a different way although they did not elaborate on how I could do that. I asked what I did well and both participants seemed to think I explained my idea for the final product well and the second person though I explained my reasoning for them well too.  Lastly, I asked for any after thoughts and one participant responded saying I could've spoken more about colour choices.

Production diary

 18/01/22 Today we began filming our podcast. We went into the studio and set up the equipment which included logging into the apple mac in the studio and opening logic pro to record the audio on. In terms of microphones we used a RODE NR1A which is a microphone that a lot of people tend to use for podcasts. The guests and I had a conversation beforehand to make sure we knew what we were going to talk about and the order in which we were going to talk about each topic. It was very loosely scripted in the way that the intro and outro were written up but the rest was more or less unscripted, we had a list of things to talk about but we didn't have specific things within the topic written down since we wanted to create a natural conversation as we felt that would be more entertaining.
